I'll overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.

Former two-time unified boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really proceeding.
